Parts List for ArmTrack Robot

Parts List

The parts were sourced from a number of places since this wasn't a kit. The Lego was just in my kids collection.

Raspberry Pi

Model B, Model B+ or Pi 2. 2 USB ports required.

The Arm

The arm is a kit available from Maplin. It took about 1 hour to assemble with low difficulty.

The Chassis

There a very few tank chassis models you can easily use so I opted for parts from Tamiya (after a lot of searching around). I eventually found an excellent company called Proto-Pic http://proto-pic.co.uk/ which stocked everything I needed. The parts are:

Universal Plate Set

2 x Universal Plate Sets http://proto-pic.co.uk/tamiya-70172-universal-plate-l-210x160mm/

1 set of Hex Standoffs (4 Pack) http://proto-pic.co.uk/aluminum-standoff-1-25-4-40-m-f-4-pack/

Screws for Standoffs above

1 Pack of screws for standoffs above http://proto-pic.co.uk/screw-phillips-head-1-4-4-40-10-pack/

Bolts for Standoffs

Order the battery pack below and some wire (if you need it) if you're doing one big order from ProtoPic. I have no affiliation with ProtoPic so feel free to buy where ever you like.

Motor Controller

To control the DC motors from the Pi you need a motor controller board. This one from Ryanteck.uk is both cheap and excellent. Its a little fiddly to solder so if your soldering skills aren't up to it then buy the pre soldered kit.

Camera

As well as a raspberry Pi Camera you'll need a long cable and a mount.

Long Camera Cable

These are widely available from many stockists including http://shop.pimoroni.com/products/raspberry-pi-camera-mount

Wifi Dongle

I got mine form the Pi Hut but they are available from many stockists.

Raspberry Pi Battery Pack

Mobile phone chargers (with short cable) are suitable. I use one made by Anker from Amazon.
